Another attraction from Albania is the town of Elbasan which can be found in the eastern part, around 50 km southeast of Tirana. Travellers usually pass by this town to get to the shores of the nearby Lake Ohrid. The most notable landmark here is the castle with its surrounding walls that was built during the Ottoman Empire. Outside the walls, you will find a Turkish bath that was well-preserved from the 19th century. Its museums include the War Museum, Ethnographic Museum (1982), “Kostandin Kristoforidhi” house and the Shkolla Normale Museum.
