The announcement and the consignee of the Swiss Tourism Awards take place in a wide context where international tourism becomes the protagonist of a series of events that happen in Lugano.
The city dedicates a whole week to tourism top level events that have the aim of encouraging and developing international tourism.

In particular, the programme of the week of Tourism of Lugano proposes the following happenings:

• Swiss International Tourism Exchange “IViaggiatori” (29th October – 1 st November 2009), that this year celebrates it seventh edition
• The Swiss Tourism Awards, presenting numerous wonderful destinations from Europe and the entire world
• The Gourmet Choice, the awards dedicated to destinations, association of the sector and accomodation structure that express the best italian food & wine tourism.
• Parallel events, Gala evenings, conferences and work meetings involving operators, journalists, public and exhibitors.
