After careful evaluation, the Scientific Committee of the Swiss Tourism Awards then selected the city of Nelson Mandela Bay for the Wellness Paradise category and awarded the prize:

“Exciting African Experience for Mind, Spirit and Body.”

Known as the “friendly city” or the “water sports capital of Africa,” Nelson Mandela Bay offers excellent and varied sports facilities, and the city hosts many exciting sporting events throughout the year. The many sports activities such as squash, volleyball, tennis, roller field hockey, cricket, auto racing, horse racing and golf make it a true paradise for sports and health enthusiasts. In addition, the city offers many opportunities to manage stress, practice yoga, meditation, holistic therapies, and these are just some of the reasons why we awarded this prestigious award to Nelson Mandela Bay.
