After careful evaluation, the scientific committee of the Swiss Tourism Awards then selected the city of Karlstad and awarded the prize:

“Sun-kissed city, Swedish Rally Capital”

Karlstad is a nice municipality in Värmland County in central Sweden. Located in the rural center of the country, it is a university town that also serves as the regional capital of Värmlands. Getting around on foot is very easy; there is no need to rent a car to see the various interesting sights. After reaching the city center, you will be greeted by a fun mixture of Swedish buildings with traditional and contemporary designs. Walking on the south side you will have the impression of walking through a small amusement park. Karlstad Cathedral and Värmlands Museum are two attractions worth visiting.
