After careful evaluation, the scientific committee of the Swiss Tourism Awards then selected the City of Ardino and awarded the prize:

Ardino is a picturesque town located in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria, which offers a striking natural beauty and an interesting cultural heritage.
The beauty of Ardino lies mainly in its charming mountain location and the rich biodiversity that surrounds the city. The region is characterized by breathtaking mountain landscapes, green valleys, lush forests and crystal clear streams.
From a cultural and historical point of view, Ardino preserves a series of interesting sites. Among them is the Dyavolskoto Garlo Rocks complex, which houses unique rock formations and a cave accessible to visitors, known for its unique stalactite and stalagmite formations.
In addition, the city retains historic buildings and monuments that reflect its local history and tradition.
The local community also preserves folklore traditions and typical crafts, which are exhibited at local festivals and celebrations, allowing visitors to learn about the local culture.
